The Pleasley Hill Regeneration Area is a major, 36 hectare, development opportunity in the north west of the Mansfield District. It provides an opportunity to improve the gateway to the district and to enhance the districts residential and employment opportunities.
Our urban design process seeks to ensure that exacting levels of design quality and sustainability become increasingly embedded within emerging proposals at all stages of the evolution of the masterplan.
We have structured the layout around a number of development zones, each of which combines a mix of complementary uses to create distinct character areas and a sense of place. Our objective has been to create a coherent framework of interlinked urban forms, public open spaces and uses.
The masterplan is sub-divided into character areas to determine the built and open spaces. Following the identification of these character areas we developed outline proposals to incorporate within the Design and Access Statement for each area exploring both hard and soft landscape treatments.
