The 31 hectare former Prince of Wales colliery site, is being regenerated into a mixed-use development with housing and employment opportunities along with supporting ancillary facilities including: retail, restaurants, cafes, drinking establishments, a medical centre, community centre and a day nursery.

 

DLA Landscape & Urban Design is providing landscape architectural services for the public realm, developing designs that responded positively to the local context.

 

The proposals draw together a number of inter-related character areas that evolved through the design process; each with a unique character and experience, collectively aiding the visual and physical connection with the context to create an innovative and sustainable place to live.
